Has anyone got this dvd writer?

Is it a good writer because i am thinking about buying this DVD Writer.

No, but have you considered a Pioneer or Sony? They are tops. Why does this burner appeal to you?

Well i was in PC World and they said that's the only one they stock and that most DVD Players and DVD things are now going to start using + Writers so that's the way to go they said.

I was going to get a Pioneer one at one point but then the man in PC World said the Philips was a good one

They have been saying that about +r for quite a while now. -r still much more widely used and supported than +r.

Will + R work in my PS2?

If you have a v1-v3 then no. If you have a v4 maybe. If you have a v5-v7 yes. If you don't know your version you can check here

It's taking shops round here ages to get hold of DVD Writers, some can't even give me a date on when they can get one.

And i don't want to fit it myself as i have this stupid raid thing that i don't want to mess with.
