Xbox Backup

I know you can create an ISO for backup the xbox games. I'm thinking of just using winRAR to compress my games since I run all of them from the HD anyway. Anyone know if there's any issue doing it this way??

sry, playing games off the HDD doesn't support any kind of compression.

yea dude, the box can only play from the xbe file, much like a comp cant play or use compressed file, unless its an .exe

Sorry guys for not making it clear. I was talking about compressing the game folders and burn it on a DVD for archive. Whenever I need need to play them I can just put the DVD in the computer DVD-rom and extreacted in to the xbox HD via FTP. I just wanted to know by doing that will it change/alter the file attributes that will make the game unplayable. Why amd I doing this? well I have a agme (MSG2, Shenmue 2) that I wanted to archive onto another DVD for extra backup. As you know it's over 4.7 gig. I was planning on using winRAR multiple volume option and put that on 2 DVD. I don't want to downsample the video or anything.

yes, you can do that. As long as it isn't compressed on the xbox HDD.
