updating firmware

I recently purchased a new computer that had a pioneer dvd-rw dvr-104. I have tried to update the firmware to 1.40 but all i get is "model name of kernal part is not matched". I have been able to copy ps2 games but they are not botting in my ps2. I'M hoping that updating the firmware will solve this problem. Thx

Have you tried the px engine update for it?

mancub00 14-01-2003 13:50

Thx for your response. Yes I have installed pxengine 358. I am pretty sure this is the new one.

It is very unlikely that the firmware is your problem. What media are you using? What mod you got? What prog. are you using to burn?

i am using Verbatim DVD-R's, I have a magic 3 on a version 7 ps2(all my cdr's work fine) , I have used Prassi, RecordNow, and Nero. I have been able to make two "successful" copies with nero and stomp but they did not boot up in ps2, pink screen of death. thx

Sounds like you might have a bad install. Get ahold of your installer.(if it wasn't you)

Have you tried to use PS2 CD, if it is ok, that means you can blame DVD-R Verbatim, but it should boots though...

Imation or Ritek is the best I think....

No way. Imation suck. Ritek are good but stay away from Imation. You can try a new media but if Verbatim doesn't work then nothing usually will.

Hi Bighap,

I am talking about imation DVD+RW, it works perfectly, boots first time every time on all consoles that i've chipped (version 7 PAL most of them about 8 consoles i've done so far)
