is it okay to burn faster than 1x?
well is it?
|
I always burn at 2x.
|
Yes.... As long as you have decent media and your media will support burning faster than 1X...
I have burned quite a few things @ 4X and they all work fine.... Although 4X capable media is still a little high.....So I will continue to burn @ 1X or 2X until the price comes down some on the 4X stuff... |
I read at 4x on cdr's and burn at 8x. With the AO3 i read at min, burn at 2x. I never have problems when using quality media.
|
See my Factoid post: CD-R Burning Speed. That's definitive.
|
I got a couple of errors at 2x during the testing stage. I went to 1x and it was successful. Do you think it matters at all what speed you read the game and put it on your hard drive?
|
You should have no problems going at 2x if you are using quality media. Read speed doesn't matter.
|
Yeah. I always burn at 2X otherwise it takes all day.
By the way it seems wierd that the forum rules say no bad language that kids parents complain about and yet wen I read this thread there wos a picture of some girly posing naked for a product called anally. Surely this will be more offensive than some bad language!!!!!!!!!! |
x4?

"I have burned quite a few things @ 4X and they all work fine.... I work just below max write speed for cdr (ie 20x on my 24 speed). I write dvdr @ 2x but only because 4x media is expensive (as pointed out by derek in aus).
Try it, if it don't work, don't do it again! |

Don't know if they make any +R discs faster than 2.4X or not, since I don't use the +R format... |
THNX i don't have any probs burning at 2.4x on +r media most of the time it's the only speed i can burn at [don't forget to use good media]
