Just can't burn games...! Help me I pray you..!

Hi everybody,

Our dear console is driving me crazy! I had a mitsumi 4801te and I've just changed it with a new samsung 248b 48x 16x 48x only to burn dc games!
The problem is that every game I burn with diskjuggler or nero, (such as Daytona 2001, StuntGP, 18 wheeler, King of Fighters 2000 - all selfboot) DC sees them as audio cd's, I've wasted about 15 cd's in two days! I tried first without changing any settings, than i even tried changing some settings but I still can't play a game...does somebody have a suggestion please??
I burned successfully just two games with clone cd (rogue spears and extreme sports) but especially the first one looks really bad and the sound sucks...
I tried to do a search but I could not solve my problem...even the utopia boot cd gives me this problem, that's why I can only try to burn selfboot games.
Is possible that this problem is because of the OS or things like that?

Here's my configuration:
Windows XP Professional
Diskjuggler 3.00.783-FTU
Nero 5.5.9.9
Burner: Samsung sw248 48x 16x 48x
I use VGA box

I don't know what can I try anymore...please help me, I can give you 'all' my games if you just can give me a solution!

Thank you for reading my topic
bye y'all

I know VERY little about this. But are you just trying to make a copy of a DC game on your computer?
This is NOT possable, since DC game are one gigibite discs(GCD). The only part of the disc that a computer can read is the audio tracks. So it copied , what it saw only.

Its like trying to copy a DVD with a CD Writer. You need a DVD reader first. And since there is NO GCD reader for computers. You will not be able to copy em. And norm CDs hold about 700mbs...not 1000mbs.
And then again...you would also need to bypass the copy protecvtion if you did. Ala Mod Chip.

Assuming u use burned DC games:

-Try to use Discjuggler 3.50
-Try to burn lower ie at 16x w burnproof
-Don't use blue coloured CDr's (they seem to mess up here).
-Try to make an iso first and then burn.
-alot of games do not work with VGA box, utopia v1.1 had no VGA support.

Also i heard new DC's are kinda protected against piracy. So make sure u have an old one.

Thank you but I'm not that stupid yet...I'm just trying to burn .cdi, .nrg, or .ccd images like you all...

First, thank you for your answering...

- I'm gonna try the 3.50 version right now..
- What's burnproof? Anyway I also tried burning at 8x...
- Ok I won't thx. Even though I tried three different CD-Rs
- And then do I have to burn it using Nero? I heard that an .iso format cannot be a selfboot disc, so I have to use the Utopia Boot Disc, is that right?
- I know that, I also tried to burn the BootLoader 1.2 that should have the vga support...it doesn't work but I really dont think is because of the vga because it has the same problem of the games.

I bought my Dreamcast in Japan five years ago, so probably this is not one of the last dc produced...then I already have some copied games ;)

Thank you really much for ur help roBx^...

I just wanna play my dreamcaaast!:( :( :(

I tried to use Diskjuggler 3.50 also using a different cd-rw (Philips 4800 48x 16x 48x) and I burnt successfully King Of Fighters 2000 but than I tried Jo Jo's Bizzarre Adventure and it still dont work...does it have any sense???

Any other suggestions...? ...please...

.Bin (cdrwin) are always non selfboot. When u open a selfboot disc in CDRWIN it will say it has more than one session (SB's has 2 sessions) and is unsupported, DJ and Nero are fine for making iso's with any type of game. I prefer DJ.

For DJ: Choose CDrom to image then select a dir plus a filename and make the image in that dir.

So far i know Jojo is pretty old and is non selfboot, i recently made the game selfboot via Bin2boot. Burn proof is what most burners have, they prevent buffer underruns even when the cache is low it will burn succesfully without skipping. Usually this is needed for fast speed burning (mine is 79% cache on a p3 866 40 gig raid, used to be 100% tho :D) as it needs a fast PC and decent HD.

That de DC is japanese doesn't matter, my european DC also reads all kind of CDR's from usa to japanese pirates. Or there must be a known problem in the first batch of dreamcasts but i doubt it.

Whats the problem with blue media?
I have been using Verbatim MetalAZO (as blue as midday sky in summer) 4 a long time and my dreamcasts love them...

roBx^ 13-01-2003 03:21

Well to be honest i had verbatims on my PSX and they all scratched like hell on my laser (when i reburned them on another ie mitsui sony they where 100%). On DC it also happened 1 or 2 times so i never used them anymore... I stated it as a "could be" problem.

It can be different per console/user and alot of other factors.

if you still cant figure it out, get ahold of me on messenger

Actually, i think the proble is with WinXP. There are ASPI drivers out there that allows you to use the version on DJ with XP. On another note, There is GDRom Readers. I don't have one, but i do know where to get one. The price tag... 1500 american dollars plus! just though i'd let you all know!
