Best Media & Software to backup PSX 2 Games
 

Dear Members !

Im using NERO 5.5.10.0 & CloneCD 4.2.0.2 softwares to make backups of PSX, PC & Audio CDs. To detect the copy protection im running ClonyXXL 2.0.0.6. To backup DVDs im using DVDXCopy 1.3 (And they work great)

NOW........................

I never made a backup of PSX 2 Game to work on MESSIAH 2 or MAGIC 2,3. (Awaiting installation) Before I try I'd like to get some tips from you fine people !!

Im using PIONEER A05 Cd R/RW.
What is the best software to use to make backups of my PSX 2 games..should I stick with softwares Im already using, or there're better ones out there !!! The media Im planning to use is TRAXDATA CDs & the last Q?...How do I know if the game Im copying's DVD based game?...Is it if the disc is over 700MB (80min.) ???
Some people on this forums were saying that DVD based games don't have a copy protection.

best media for ps2 dvd backups are primo and recordnowmax for cd based games clone , disc juggler , nero and for cd based games it really doesn't matter what brand of cd disc's u use mine will play just the same with cheap as the more expensive but dvd-r disc's u should use traxdata , verbatim , apple ive even used mirror and some others but ive experienced some probs with certain games with the other media but 100% success with traxdata , verbatim , apple, hope this helps

Yes.... Primo doesn't like the A05.....

Just use RecordNow Max with the A05.... Its basically identical to Primo except it has some additional features and is a little more user friendly.....

...So the answer is RecordNowMax ???!!!
What about the copy protections e.t.c...Is ClonyXXL+CloneCD not good ??..I dont think CLoneCD supports DVDs anyway...

You are correct.... ClonyXXl and Clone CD will NOT do you any good for DVD based games......
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Clony & Clone CD (That is all I use for cd based games), but for dvd based games they are no good....
As far as protections are concerned, no need to worry about it on dvd based games... (At least not yet)..... Just use RecordNow Max and you will have no worries.....
I have successfully backed up over 190 dvd based games with RecordNow Max (plus the 100 or so with Clone CD).... They all work flawlessly......
