I am fairly new to backingp PS2 games however i doknow that some games(blue backs) willback up on normal CDr` others need Dvd-r (i do have both writers. My question is if i use Record now software for the dvd-r do ineed to make an image or can i do disc to disc?:confused:

If you are doing disc to disc, then you will need another DVD-ROM drive for DVD games and it will need to be fast enough. Try a copy on a RW disc and see if it works. If you are doing a CD on-the-fly copy, then you will have to put the CD in the DVD-RW and the blank in the CD-RW. Hope this helps. If you want to write without an image then that is what you will have to do, however, for the time it takes to do an image, you might as well make one and at least you'll know it will definately work...

i do have a DVDR+r (HP) writer and a DVD-r (pioneer) writer so i`m covered with dvd roms but do PS2 games need a patch/crack in them to make them work?

i have made a backup of GTA Vice city but my PS2 aint chipped yet i`m trying to find somewhere to get it done

It depends what chip you put in your console as whether you need a crack/patch or not. If you get a good no swap modchip e.g.: (Messiah, Messiah 2, Magic 2, Magic 3 Series) then you don NOT need to patch the games but all the other chips do need patches for certain games to make them run.
