My friend told me that Mod chips are differant than flashing ur bios? how do i get my xbox to play burned games? do i burn a new bios and load it to xbox or do i instal a mod chip? im really new to this some help would be appriciated :D

just get some one to fit a mod chip that will boot backed up games

Bios are what the xbox boots on. It tells the xbox what to do in different situations.
Modchips have hacked bios on them and force the xbox to boot to the hacked bios, most are preflashed. They are a far better alternative than flashing the onboard tsop.
