HELP!!Xbox flashing red
here's my problem i ftp the xbox sdk recovery disk to the xbox hard drive so i can convert it back to retail, it started to format the hard drive then gave me an error( cant format hard drive). So i restarted the xbox, but now all it does if flash red, i put in original dvd game nothing still happens only black screen and the flashing red :( ,does any1 knoe wuts wrong with it, please help me out???
|
It could be flashing red because an essential file (somehting that it boots with) was deleted from the HDD, or something in your xbox was fried.
I doubt this is your problem, but if one of your modchip soldering points aren't touching the board, then it will also flash red. |
i'm using the matrix modchip, so im sure nothing is wrong with the modchip. Everything was working fine before i use the restore disk, so yeah i guess either something is missing from the hard drive or it's fried, hopefully its just the hard drive cuz i was gonna upgrade it anyway, but if something is fried I really don't knoe what to do. Do u knoe any website that repair xbox!!THnx for ur help..

ok i just notice that when i dont put in the av cable the light would flash green and orange, but when i put it in it starts to flash red. Any1 knoe wuts wrong????
|
Green and orange just means the cables A/V aren't plugged in.
You say you have the matrix chip? I've read that many people have had to re-align it because everynow and then, it might slip out of place. You should check that because that may also be why it's blinking red |

With electrical tape, I don't see a problem.

im sry if you can't find whats wrong. However, if you do get a new xbox, you should check your local Babbages. I here that they have refurbished xbox's for only $80
