so no one can help me out at all?

Not sure what you are looking for......

Patches are not a big deal anymore (in my opinion).......Except for Video Mode Patches (ie PAL-NTSC & Vice Versa).....

DVD writers have come down so much in price, its really the best option.... You can copy dvd games 1:1..... No more ripping or anything, just copy and play....

RecordNow Max is a new tool for DVD based game backup, www.stompinc.com, tutorial in sticky posts at the top of this forum section.

DVD writers have evolved. Pioneer A05 & Sony DRU-500A are the two big boys at the moment.

so you dont need patches anymore for EA games or anything?? is there a new program you are using to burn them so you dont need that patch???
how much are dvds burners usually running now for a price??
thanks for the other info

jsk333 20-01-2003 17:54

so what do i need to do to burn games now, and is it any easier to rip dvd games that it was 3 months ago??

bighap 20-01-2003 18:02

RecordNow Max or Primodvd for dvd based games and CloneCD for cd based games(blue backs). No patching is necessary with any of these.

ditch the neo

Get a messiah 2 from charlie, or dust then you no longer need patches.

jsk333 27-01-2003 11:50

how much?

BG 27-01-2003 11:53

I beleive they are now $58.00.

Then you will just need to either install it yourself (i don't rec) or have a pro do it for you..(I highly rec.)

bighap 27-01-2003 11:53

I believe they charge about $55-$60 now.

jsk333 27-01-2003 20:54

does anyone know how much harder, if any it is to install than the neo4? whats the beniefts of the messiah than neo? how many wires is it?

jsk333 27-01-2003 20:59

oh and what would you guys recommend for an external dvdr? i have hotswap drives on my computers so i would need one that would work on my laptop or my other computer

bighap 27-01-2003 23:27

Benefits over Neo? Ha! The Neo chips fry your laser. That alone is a good enough reason to switch. The Messiah 2 has 24 wires. A good external burner is the Sony DRX-500UL, but be prepared to fork out a lot of dough.

jsk333 25-02-2003 09:02

you said the neo 4 frys your laser, how long does it usually take to do that, and will it eventually happen or not. my old man installed my neo4, so do u think he would be able to install the messiah as well? does it go in the same place as the neo 4?

and does anyone know if cabela big game hunter is dvd or regular?
thanks
