vicecity backup help

finally got my sonydru500a working with rnm vs 4.5. tried to make my first backup of gtavice city. got an error message during the record and verify part. followed the tutorial( really great, thanks) except for the part about auto insert. i didn't see it at the bottom of my screen so i assumed it was off already( could this be the problem?) well i ended up with a tdk frisbee. i only have one tdk dvd-r left so can someone help before i have a matching set? thanks bighap for your help earlier today!

To check about the "auto insert".......

Go to the top and click on "tools" then click on "options"

Towards the bottom it will say "Autorun Shield (Disable Auto Insert Notification when the application is open)...

Make sure it is checked...

Also, what speed are you trying to burn at, and at what speed are you reading the original at?

i am reading at min and i tried to record at 2x

Try burning at 1X until you get everything sorted.....

Also, you could try burning to a DVD-RW, so if something screws up you havent wasted a disc....

thanks, good idea. I have a ps2 vs.7 so that should be fine withdvd-rw, right ? Also using a magic 3. how about cd-rw will that work for cd based games? how about dvd+rw? one came with my burner. will the ps2 vs.7 read it?

joehank 26-12-2002 20:24

used the search function here and found that the popular opinion is that yes, a ps2 vs.7 will read a dvd+rw. anything else i should know related to burning speeds? thanks
