Backing Up To Hard Drive (Not Disc) Question

I got a copy of Shinobi, but it's running on its last limb. I got it used and there's some pretty big scratches on the game, but it still works good. I'm not sure how much longer it will though. I don't have a DVD writer yet, but I'm preparing for the worst. What should I do to make a copy of it on my hard drive? Could I make an .iso file or do I need to do something special so all the data is taken? :o

Do you have a DVD Rom drive?

Because if you do im sure you could just make an .ISO.

Don't know if it needs to be backed up in anyway.

I have a DVD drive, just not a burner. I used a program, called Alcohol 120% to make an image file, but it was backed up in their format. It ended up being a .mdf and a .mds file. I'll have to try another program, like Clone CD to make an .iso but from what I hear Clone CD can't do DVDs so I may end up with nothing, that's my problem.

Doesn't nero do dvd images?

Guru Imakuni 26-12-2002 10:55

I'm not sure. I'll give it a try though. Clone CD funked out on me.

CloneCd isn't a dvd program. It is only for cds. And it's an awesome program.;)

Chris174 26-12-2002 12:09

If you go on the clonecd website they are making a program called CloneDVD

Correct, but we still have several months to wait yet.:(

You could just download Primo DVD and make a .gi image of the game, and when you get your writer burn the .gi image back to your dvd-r.....
