Plextor PX-W1610TA + SD2 = no way in hell or...?!?
 

1. Some people out there are talking about a firmware downgrade to 1.04. Is that just bullshit or is it true?? If yes,does the PX-W1610TA support that??
Saw this in another forum: Q) "Have you tried CloneCD, it should work with any writer and Plextor with firmware revision 1.4,(which is older than the current firmware installed on their new writers)" - A) "Thanks for the reply, however...I have also tried clone cd but the problem is that I have bought my plextor only recently and it came with firmware 1.07 and I cannot downgrade the firmware below 1.05 "

2. Anyone out there ever copied a SD2 prtected cd with a Plextor 16/10/40 ide???

3. I just need a 100% answer,have seen so many different answers around,that I really dont know whats the truth!!

4. If I can not copy SD2 with my cd-r is there any ways around the protection. Like use a no-cd patch,or is it impossible to burn them at all.

5. My "english" sucks :-))

I have that cdrw.

I copied Tribes 2 and it copied and installed fine but goes to the desktop when loading objects for a mission.

My orginal works fine though.

Tribes 2 is securom 2 not safedisk 2!
I think t s is right that firmware shit is bs.
