No-Solder chip and laser?
 

Could anyone enlighten me as to whether or not there's proof that the No-Solder chip - also known as the RMOD I believe - does or does not interfere with the laser strength on the PS2. I've got one and I've seen contrary opinions about whether or not it affects the laser - I thought it just over-rode the eject switch. I'm thinking of getting a flip-top case which presumably would not affect the laser but if the No-Solder does nothing to the laser there's not much point.

The only mods that have been proven to hurt the laser are the line of neo chips. Stay away from them at all costs.

Ta. I couldn't think why a chip that I don't imagine would interact with the laser but I thought I'd ask around. If the general consensus is it does no damage I'll probably stick with my no-solder instead of a flip-top case.

LOL stick with the NO solder over the flip top case.

It doesnt affect the laser at all. i have had one for about a year now and it still works great.
