original ps2 dvd's
 

Hello I'm new to this forum and I hope someone can help me with my problem.

I have a ps2 scph-30004 with a neo2.2 and action replay v2.
Today I got a dvd game gta vice city and I could not get it to boot it was the same with the getaway.I tried all the boot options I have even the ones from the sticky but they still won't boot up.

When I put the dvd in you only hear it gently trying to read but you don't hear the disc spin,and in the browser I get a error "failed to read disc".

Why can't I read dvd games and what can I do about it(with my current setup)?

I know I'm new but please help me out.

what are u using to boot the dvd-r with the neo 2.2 ?

with ar u need v1.90 or 1.93 to boot dvd-r's the new ones won't boot dvd-r's

sry didn't read properly if they are orig try cleaning ur ps2 with a cd cleaner and if that does not work it might be the end of ur laser

I'm using ar version2,the funny thing is I can still read cd r media. But once in a while a backup game won't boot on the first try,but I had this problem from the beginning when I installed the neo2.2 chip.

Today I tried to boot a movie dvd but it's the same story, he won't read the disc.He's trying but it sounds like he's just slightly of track.
