thats a *.p4u patch (PAL4U)

create your *.bin file using CDRWin

Use the Pal4U application (available from megagames site), select your patch and *.bin file, then click "go for patch"

burn your patched *.bin file back to cd-r using CDRWin

are u sure, the patch opens in an MS-dos window...

djgarf 21-12-2002 06:45

I d/l the zip that you linked to in your 1st post, un-zipped it and it was 2 p4u patches, one called Xenogears disc1.p4u and the other called Xenogears disc2.p4u

ok bud, if you have not used these sort of things before they can be quite difficult :)

in the release note it says the following...

Quote:

Simply unpack the archive and start fix.exe from a DOS-Box or double click on it's icon. It will ask you for the path & name of your CDRWin .bin file and patch it.
I'm guessing you could do this 2 ways: -

1. Extract the zip file into the same folder as your CDRWin *.cue and *.bin files (somewhere like C:\Game). The open up a MS DOS command prompt, select the folder as your working area (cd c:\game) then use the command fix.exe and it will apply the patch to the bin file.

2. Double click the fix.exe file, it asks you where your *.bin file is located, type in something like c:\game\game.bin (obviously using your folder & file names) and it should apply the patch.

Let us know how you get on :)

omg.....now it says "couldn't open the ISO file"

any suggestions?

psx_paul 21-12-2002 14:39

what exactly did you do to get this error message?

ScArFaCe 22-12-2002 09:10

man o man, i got it to work, and i burnt the game, and everything was fine, i messed around with the files and the msdos untill it finally said, "patched successfully"

lol (dont know how i did it, but i did)

thank all of u guys for the help, i really appreciate everything!!!

psx_paul 22-12-2002 09:44

:D

glad to hear that it worked alright :)

if you can remember the steps that you took to apply the patch, and you fancy knocking up a small tutorial (with pics if you can), send it to me and I will add it to the sticky on patching within this forum, this way it will help others who have this type of problem in the future :)

I'm having problems with this too >_< So please do let me know if you work out how you did it... cause I'm pretty damn screwed here >_<

EDIT - Fixed it!! Seems it only lets you type in the name of the file itself, not the command... for example - 'xenogears.bin', not 'c:\game\xenogears.bin' ... so you obviously gotta open a command prompt and go to the directory manually.
