EA swap doesn't work!
 

When I try and load the AR2v2 disc on my PS2(neo 2.2, version 4 PS2) while holding reset, I've heard that on relaeasing the reset button, that the tray should open, however when I do it nothing occurs, any ideas as to why

A neo 2.2 can be installed on a v4 two different ways, One way uses all 8 wires and supports the EA tray eject swap, The other uses only five wires and doesnt support the EA tray eject swap. I would ask the installer which diagram was used.
