Neo 2.2 pro (ps2 v1) gameshark v2 problems

Ok so I installed my neo 2.2 pro and I bought a gameshark 2 v2.
I have a version 1 playstation 2 and I have heard that to get the ps2 back ups to work you need gameshark 2 v1.3 but I'm not sure.

I can't get the games working the standard boot method. (load gameshark disk goto start game without codes swap with backup then hit x)

When I do that it freezes at the same screen. I can get it to boot some of my backups by holding rest till it goes to the "please wait loading code list" menu then swap and continue to go to "start without codes" then hit x and it works.
But not all games work like nba2k2 , splashdown and no one lives forever.

Is it true that I need ver 1.3 or does anyone have the same setup without any problems?
Does anyone know where I can get a ver 1.3?

My fingers are sore from holding rest. :(

forget the gameshark

Why dont you just get a swapmagic disk set. they have the newest one at gamegizmo

I didn't know you could use anything else but the gameshark. I have never heard about using swap magic for neo 2.2's only no-solder chips

GS2 V2x should work on your console. Your problems could be due to the fact that you have a old console and the laser is sure to be weak. What media are you using?? also, the games mentioned are dvd games, are you trying to boot dvd-r backups or cd-r rips??

I'm using fujifilm 80min
and the games are dvd rips

First try using better media. Verbatim, TDK,ect. If in the US Princo's are a cheap cd-r that works great for PS2.

hey man for dvd-r back ups u need a different boot method...try following this one below....it's guaranteed to work....
put on d ps2 with d gameshark disc in....keep holding d reset button....when disc loads up swap with original game (or if u don't have original try a dvd disc found on a ps2 magazine maybe it works).....now go to d cheats section & select any game (i use onimusha warlords)....press triangle on every single cheat ( don't worry u only do it once)....now press start, then on with codes...a saving up option screen should come up...now release d reset button...disc should open automatically....swap with dvd back up....d tray will close auto.leave it for a few secs then press x and VOILA!! it should load like magic.....now everytime u wanna play back ups all u have to do is uncheck/check with triangle a single code & repeat d procedure...it only take 30 secs upmost...let us know if it worked 4 u man....
btw u sound like maltese to me man from ur name....do u live in malta??
