xbox live and mods
 

is there any way to get xbox live and play it with a mod chip in or will it fry my xbox:confused:

It won't fry your xbox, it'll just ban you from xbox live permanately. And to answer your question, there is no way to go on xbox live with a modchip.

Quall999, since I saw you also posting in the PS2 forum, would you know if the same is true for the PS2? As far as playing online and having a mod?

as i have no proof of this, do not get your hopes up but I read on the net somewhere that there is a hack that makes it 100% safe from all security traps on live but this might require buying a new mod chip if you wanted to try

to follow up on what I was saying, the name of the mod chip is Enigmah Mod Chip. it is expensive but a very good mod chip as I have seen demonstrated through movies on the net

I don't think so. Microsoft chooses to use it's own servers for online play, on every game. So all they have to do is ban your xbox, and it is banned for every game. PS2 games use the servers of the creaters (each game runs on different servers). So even if you were to get banned, you would have to go on every companies server. Chances are, each companies wouldn't spend the time nor the moeny doing this.

wtf are you guys chattin about, i have my xbox modded and im on xbox live. all you have to do is install a switch on your 1 wire mod. when you want to go on live, remember to turn off your mod, when your playing erm, uh, backups turn your switch on!

we already know you can go on to xbox live as long as you swich the mod chip off.
the point is this if you accidentley forgot to swich the chip off and connected to "live" microsoft would permanentley ban that particular xbox from it's servers for good.:D

ah ha! i see, this is my first time checking the xbox scene here at fileforums, im usually at the ps2 forums. i was beginning to wonder about the ppl that hang out here, my bad!

From my own experience I know for sure that you can go online using ps2 back ups. I've tried it w/ socom and madden 2003 and it worked fine so no worries.:D
