lol were are you tyler ,tyler has sony swears by it so maybe he can help |
What Firmware are you using? I have had absolutely no problems so far.
Also what errors did you get? If you have a pirate version of XP then you will need to change the serial and go and download the Service Pack 1 Tyler! |
Ok here is the deal I tried with firmware ver. 1.0d & then tried 1.0f same prob. XP is upgraded with service pack1. The error I get is-
Image job untitled1 Terminated with error Error-10 at sector 378336 - Command:28 Sense:03 ASC:11 ASCQ:5 Iv'e tried using the burner to create the .gi & the rom drive NO differance Sector values do change but other than that same error & if the back up boots it freezes. My guess is at that sector I have different burning software installed also. Could that cause this ? There are alot of others who use this drive & are very happy with it. I'm thinking I may have a config prob. Any Idea's ????? |
what version RecordNow Max are you using ? (4.10 / 4.50)
what other burning software have you got installed ? Nero by any chance??? When I upgraded RNW to 4.50 I had error messages saying that there were conflicts with Nero (5.5.9.0). So, I re-installed RNW4.10 and have no further problems. Your error code - have you checked this out to see the exact reason? Under "Help>Drive Error Codes" (or something like that). It might be on the read side due to a damaged disc. Have you tried backing up any other originals? |
Ok, so I lied :)
Help>Index>Troubleshooting>Drive Error Codes Command:28 Sense:03 ASC:11 ASCQ:5 - L-Ec Uncorrectable Error The 03 11 range appear to consistently be read errors. |
Hi, An update on my prob. I have Max 4.5 I did an uninstall & Reinstalled it did come up with the error with nero. So I removed that. Defraged the drive .Ok now for the big moment. I tried to backup Dead to Rights & Damn it did'nt work  But I did'nt get all the error's as before Just Verification error at sector ###### So I think I'm getting closer. Could I be suffering from buffer underruns I just don't see what's wrong EveryOne else has good luck with this drive:confused
Tyler if you read this I'm testing with the Sony DVD+RW that came with the drive Did you have good results with it ??? I think I'm going to hang the coasters I made on the Christmas tree I think the lights would look cool reflecting off them LOL Thanks Guys :) |
I had excellent results with that dvd+rw. I still use it now for games I personally alter.
Hmm, now you make me wonder about that buffer underrun you mentioned. Are you multitasking? If anything try again without any programs in the background running. Tyler! |
Hi & thanks guys for your help But I'm still having some probs :(
This is what I've tried so far . Ok First I went & rented & borrowed the same games I have to see if mine were damaged or something. Same thing happens Also picked up all the different media I could find (trying to elimate the media issue) Ok now that did'nt pan out. I went & purchaced New IDE cables replaced them(you never know) Damn same prob again :( So know I reformat the drive . So Now all I have is the operating system & Record Max running & the same Crap  Ok I'm gettting pissed now  I borrowed my buddies a04 & guess what same SH*T (So now the drive issue is not to blame) Ok Now I'm totally lost. I even created a xxx.gi & in the settings I tried Only Verify against the origanall disk & Same error occurs at the same sector (Discs Are spotless) PLEASE HELP I'M GETTING READY TO GIVE THIS WHOLE THING UP :( :( :( :( :( :( Thanks Again for all your help |
