I sent my ps2 to get it chipped by messiah 2
I thought i had a v4 ps2 but I really have a v3 and he won't chip it because the motherboard is half the size and is generally harder to chip then other versions So I have decided to buy a new one What is the newest version of ps2 and how do I know by just looking at the box, so I will know that i'm buying the newest Version, when at the shops cheers an angry ps2 owner |
The box should have a cutout that lets you see the serial and model #. Not sure what the latest is though.

V7 is the newest. Look for this: SCPH 3900x

I think mine is a v7 i just bought it and the # is SCPH39004.
Anyway i ordered i Messiah 2 from Charlie,Dust2dust (thanx) :p and its should be in my hands during next week, so when and if i get it and chip it then i ll tell you for sure if mine is a v7. :D For sure my old 30004R is a v4 but the neo 2.2 messed around with my laser. |

As a matter of interest, we also charge more for doing v3 installs because every ph*cking wire has to be soldered plus the need to recalibrate the DVD laser diode. |
so what scph does it have
is it [300007] |
What??? The V7 or the one I was referring to?
The V7 is a SCPH-3900x (The x will be a number) The one I was talking about doesn't even have a SCPH number. |
alright
so its scph 3000x |
NO.... The V7 starts with 3900x not 3000x.....
|
Thanx dude
|
No problem...:)

There are def 2 different V7 boards - The obvious differences are, The bios chip has different legs in the middle and the reset/Z points are copper in colour!
