Wont read cd's
 

My Ps2 is fairly new, maybe 6 months old. l put a no solder chip in it afew months ago and that doesn't seem to be the problem. The problem is its having trouble reading any game. l put a brand new game outta the box in the console and it wouldn't read it.
So l cleaned the lens with alcohol last week and that didn't improve it.
Any suggestions????:(

Does this sound like l need a new laser, or does it need an ajustment?

Alcohol might have left the film when it dried. The lens leaning CD with brushes is best.

Anyway find my Laser Azimuth setting guide in ps2newz and have a look at that issue on your PS2. V7s are slack and it often needs adjusting but that rarely affects CDs - usually DVDs.
