Is there a way to tell what speed someone burned a Ps2 dvd game at?

yeah there is and it's pretty easy

if it's -R it's either 1x or 2x
if it's +R it's either 1x or 2.4x
if it's -RW it's 1x
if it's +RW it's either 1x or 2.4x

if it's -R high speed it could be up to 4x
if it's -RW high speed it could be up to 2x

not many choices

y does it matter anyway

From what I've read it's better to burn at 1X.

What I was really trying to find out was, if a guy says he burned a game at 1X is there a way to check to make sure it wasn't 2X (DVD-r)?

Where did you hear 1x was better? Many respectable people on the PS2 board have reported smoother playing games when burned at 2x.

yeah stuff waiting 60min for a burn at 1x when 2x takes 25min. I've never tried 1x burning (except dvd-rw) and i never will. Waste of half and hour im my opinion

I don't remember where I read it if not on this forum on another one.

maybe that's what worked best for them.

1X is the best setting to use when using cheap media....

But 4X is AWESOME (and hella FAST)..... 12-15 min..... :)

I burn at 2X on Verbs. with no probs.
