Magic3 question

I've read somewhere that you need to turn of the console and on back to boot games using magic3.. is this true and does messiah2 the same way also?

thank you

This is the Magic 3 boot procedure:

With the disk assumed in the tray and the tray closed:

• For PS2 games, power up normally from STANDBY with RESET button. A single tap is required.

• For PS1 games & DVD Movies, power up from STANDBY with RESET button held until the blue EJECT light comes on; then release RESET and the disk will boot.

• Please turn off the PS2 (to standby) before changing Mode (PS1/PS2/DVD)

This is the Messiah 2 boot procedure:

ALL games load just like a ORIGINAL....

Put the game in the PS2 and it loads....(Nothing Else to do)
:D

Well unless the Official Magic 3 site is lying.....YES!!! I'M SURE.....

The Magic 3 is just another RUSHED version of the Magic 2....

Magic 3 rules!

Not even! I got a magic 3 and what you do to boot ps2 backups is start your console (single tap, anyway you like), open the tray, hold down reset untill the disk goes in and the console goes into standby, then just hit reset again (single tap). Now it can't get much easier than that! takes like 2 second to do! I haven't had any problems with it at all either.

If you would have READ my post...... It says for PS2 games, all that is required to boot is a "single tap is required"....

Except if you have a Messiah 2!!:D

I never said the Magic 3 wasn't a good chip....
It may be, BUT I prefer the Messiah "line" of chips....
Since all of the no-swap chips copied the Messiah design...

It's ok man!

That's cool dood, you don't gotta get all bent out a shape over it. ;)

And how do you know that the magic 3 copied the messiah line? Show me please.

Its very simple...

The Messiah was the FIRST true direct boot chip...
It took 23 wires to be soldered....It was a original design....

Then all of the others came out....Magic 2, Matrix, Apple...etc...
Guess what, they also took 23 wires to be soldered, and looked VERY similar to the Messiah.....

The Messiah team did all of the design work, and all of the others, in my opinion, copied the original design, changed a few things and labeled it their own.....

Like I said, the Magic line of chips are good chips, but after seeing the problems that they have had, I prefer the Messiah line of chips...
In my opinion they rushed the Magic line out in order to compete with the Messiah, thus they had some problems with it....
