Problems with dvdr backing up
 

Has anyone else had problems with backing up ps2 games to verbatim 2X dvdr. Tried backing up on 1 speed but seems to 'overcook' the dvdr and didn't run very well in ps2, so burned at 2 speed and the burn failed twice and different areas. I thought verbatim were supposed to be the best. Am using pioneer dvr104 f/w 1.33 and was backing up timesplitters 2.

ps used a bulk paq gen4 2X dvdr in the end and burned and works perfectly

have just read another thread discussing similar probs with burning different dvdr media at 1 and 2 speed. No-one mentioned dvdr's failing in mid burn though. Am pretty miffed about it cos verbatim at the price they are should be spot on.

I have used Verbatim with that particular game myself and had absolutely no problems. I find it odd that your getting them.

Maybe you had a bad batch of Verbatims. I would recommend that you try another batch.

i use dvd master (ritek) 2x speed with diskjuggler 4 a04 firmware
1.31 downgraded from 1.33 you can only downgrade if the original f/w was not 1.32 or 1.33 heres a link to tool it took me 30secs to flash the drive but some have taken hours

Why did you downgrade from an official 1.33 version to a hacked 1.31 version? I use 1.33 with Verbatim with no problems what so ever.

i downgraded to the official 1.31 using the upgdvd tool because
thats the only way to go back the reason for going back to 1.31 is it writes 2x speed on more media than 1.33 the link was for the upgdvd to downgrade not the firmware the other link was for the official 1.31

or you could go for 1.33 + 2x write all patch

dust has had success burning Traxdata @ 2x with this fw

Thanx for all the replys...... Haven't tried burning with firmware 1.33 yet as have only just upgraded so will give it a go. Had firmware 1.31 originally so if 1.33 doesn't work will try downgrading. Question 1... if I downgrade to 1.31 again and still get no joy is it possible to upgrade again to 1.33???
Question 2.... where can I get a fully functional version of disc juggler 4?? Use PrimoDVD and instantDVD at mo but both seem to be increasingly troublesome!
