Cryptic Code

I heard of somebody that made a program that can extract all the music samples form the Frequency© cd in .wav format. When I asked him how he said that in the levels.ark file there was a string of binary occasionally seperated by a string of 77777777's, it turns out the 7s seperated different audio files, which were really wav.

Anyway, knowing this I used a hex editor to look at the other files, in a file called ROOT.ARK I found 150k of python type sourcecode. Also the weird thing about it is, it LOOKS like the game's min code (complete with a ton of comments), but it appears to look like PC code. It has a section for choosing your input device (joystick/keyboard/mouse) and renderer (renderware/3dfx/null/directx/opengl), so this cant be PS2 code. Could this possibly by accident be left over from a canceled PC version? Is there any way I can compile this to see what it does?

If anybody here has the Frequency cd(and knows what I am talking about), can you check too?

Well.......... OK, I saw some PS2 specific instructions in it too, so im confused now, it has some code that coulde only be for the PC, but also has soem code that coudl be only for the PS2. Again, if anybody knows anything about coding, please help me.

Have you had any luck on extracting these music files? I have tried just about every attempt I could think of. I do not see these strings of 7's seperating sections, so i am thinking that could have been bad info given to you. If you have let me know. Also I can confirm with you the PC code thats in there as well, its most likely left over code and they were too lazy to remove it.

Actually, somebody wrote a .bat file to extract them all into wavs. the 7777777777s I believe are seperating the files.

I could send it to you if I find it.

The thing is, it rips the music pieces, not the song. What I mean is. each song is in like 1000+ pieces. EACH note and syllable in a word is it's own wav file.

eep! Is it possible to reconstruct them easily? Or is it really a pain in the behind? And yes, if you can find it that would be awsome. Thanks for the reply.
