BattleField Clone (Not reading CD)
Yes, I used the search button didn't find anything. I burned battlefield via clonecd 4, burning went fine. Installing the game went fine. But when it comes to playing, it askes for CD. I used daemon tools, and it runs fine. Just doesn't work off CD. I installed Clony XXL and burned it with that option and still no luck. Burned with CloneCD 4, there wasn't much options to mess with, and i left burning to max. (could be reason, didn't try) I have a HP 9900i burner.
PS this was the only game i could never get working with clonecd. Thanks |
When you say this is the only game you couldn't get running from Clone CD, what other games have you copied.
Battlefield is protected by Safedisk 2 (I think it's around about 2.6) which means you need a "2 sheep burner" to copy it successfully. If you read the FAQ you will find a lot of helpful information. Because Daemon Tool's emulation was able to get it running means that you were unable to copy the Safedisk protection successfully. You could try using Alcohol 120% but it is likely to have the same result. One other thing - are u running the game from a cd-writer because there will be an ATIP check in the Safedisk protection (search for an explanation). It could be that you copied it successfully but the ATIP protection is kicking in. Have a look at the FAQ first before you go any further with game copying. |
Sorry about that, i meant it wasn't the only game that didn't work. I'm sure it's 2 sheep, according to the Clonecd site. I'll try it on a non ATIP drive.
Thanks for the quick response |
Maybe I could add that CloneCD has a system tray utility that allows you to hide the ATIP, so you can use the game even on a recorder. I think you have to set your country to some country other than the us though, I set mine on Jamaica :D

Thanks for all your help. After 6 Cds, i finally figured it out. I used hide CDR media and some settings used for burning SD2. via CloneCD

So you must have made a successful copy but neglected the ATIP. Well i'm glad it's now working for you
