Civilization 3 PTW IFC23.DLL Not Found

Title says it all... downloaded 1.04f patch (this caused the problem) plus I have the 1.04f No-CD exe
would appreciate any help

Uninstall, reinstall from your originals, patch to 1.04, run the game without applying any crack. Does it work now ? If it does, try to apply the nocd and see if it still works. This kind of step by step approach is absolutely essential if you're trying to solve ANY crack related problems. Try those steps and tell us the results.

No same thing.
I've heard of other people having the same problem.
If I could find the .dll it was looking for....

I have the same problem with dll

please help

What I was asking, was : Is the original game, patched up to 1.04 but without applying any crack doing the same ? In other words, is it the patch or the nocd that asks for the IFC23.DLL ?

Edit : I've finally located a "IFC23.DLL" over the web, click on this link to download the "Immersion Web Plugin" for browsers. I don't really know what that has to do with Civ 3 PTW, but when you run this setup, it will install the IFC23.DLL in your windows\system32 directory where it's supposed to be.

Try this and tell me if it works. Now, I've spent about a whole hour of my time locating this, and I found it through only ONE (1) search result of Google. Then I had to look for this plugin and see if the dll was in there. I still don't know why the crack/patch needs it, but after all this trouble, and if this works, I expect a minimum ten lines essay on how great I am (just kidding) :D

Well, I aim to please :D And if it happens after you patch up, they clearly forgot to include that dll with their installation.

When you install CIV3 from the ORIGINAL cd it asks if you want to install the "Immersion Web Plugin" included in the cd.... ;)

Ahah ! But that doesn't necessarily mean that Dice uses warez, he could have accidentally said 'no' or something. So Dice, are you using the original cd ? If so, did you remember anything about that immersion plugin setup dialog ? If you did install from your originals and the dialog didn't come up, I must assume the setup is a bit botched.

Edit : CGS could you please look on your PTW cd and see if there's a "Immersion Web Plugin.exe" or something similar somewhere ?
