Skipping problems

Hello I just installed 2 Magic 3 chips tonight. They seem to work fine. I also burned GTA Vice City and I used Pioneer A03 and Memorex DVD-R so my question is are the Memorex sorry dvd-r? And should I try verbatim?

One other question I also copied Tekken 4 but it loads and goes to the darn explorer window every time. Even on my neo2.2 it does the same? Do I need to patch it even though im using a magic 3 chip? Any help appreciated.

Thanks

I guess more or less Memorex isn't quite that good..
Although every laser varies on machnines such where some might tell you that Memorex DVD-R works great on their machines while some says it doesn't too well..
My adivce is try TDK or Verbatim(Both almost .99% fail Proof)..
As for TK4 "IF" you got a Full 1:1 DVD-R copy patching is not necessary..

Well I just bought a 100pk of TDK and they seem to be a new version. They are all white labled, instead of the no labeled kind I used to get.

Bad news though I tried 12 of these dvd-r and none of them worked. Well actually one did but it was poor reading. I know its not my laser because I tried an earlier version TDK brand (tried a few actually) and they all still worked.

I also have to take into account that when I recieved the discs, they were in a large box with only a piece of brown paper stuffed in there as a buffer. The Bottom of the spindle had broken off but all the discs were still in the upper case. Im not sure if any dropping shock to the discs may cause any problems but it seems possible.

All in all I am getting an exchange for the rest of my 100pk spindle. Hopefully this order will be better.

So people beware of the all white TDK dvd-r they may cause problems.

P.S. Memorex is crap for ps2 only on some rare instances will it work on ps2 for game backup.

Tyler!

Thanks for the input. I will goto the store find me some verbatims. I have used memorex on quite few other games but seems the games with very large toc are just jacked up. Thanks.

Probably needs the 1uF capacitor in the S line as described in one of my Factoids.

Well bought some Verbatim dvd-r and copied Vice City with Prassi and works flawless. I suppose I will quit buying memorex since they seem to work for smal TOC games only. Thanks again everyone.

Verbs are great media but they are EXTREMELY expensive - even at computer shows! If you can get hold of them, Traxdata are just as good. I have burned backups on these discs and they are just as good as the originals themselves and at around three to four times cheaper they make even more sense. Just for anyone who is interested, a pack of ten is £10.90 from www.bigpockets.co.uk .
