PrimoDVD

Got PrimoDVD2 installed, Got a Pioneer 104 fw 1.33 (IDE), Got a Plextor 12/10/32s and and a 40Ts connected up to a Tekram scsi 315 card. Heres my problem!

When I startup PrimoDVD it does not list my DVD writer. If I disconnect my scsi drives then I can't detect anything. When They are left installed then I am able to see the DVD writer as drive F (this is correct) but still not at the startup screen. It will show me the DVD (GTA3 and Metal Gear Solid 2) but when finished building the "operation completed with errors" and there is no image on drive. What am I missing?

Cheers

There are no downloads on that site at the moment.

If you want the latest PX Engine contact me on [email protected]

Okay,
use the search button at the bottom of the screen.
Type in VERITAS and do the search.
You'll come to the screen where the first thread was started by
NUTT55, under PROBLEMS WITH PRIMO.
Go to the third posted reply from B G.
There you will find a working link as i've tried it.

Thanks for all the info guys, Got PrimoDVD running now, but heres my next question, the images I create seem to be ok both read and write, PrimoDVD doesn't say any errors but the damm PS2 just won't boot them, I think the issue may be that I am burning to DVD-RW, Just how good is the PS2 at reading these compared to standard DVD-R, Because I am new to this I didn't wanna start dropping loads of discs for no reason.

Cheers

I'm pretty sure that PS2 doesn't like DVD-RW but should read DVD-R OK.

I would recommend Verbatim media as I've had no problems at all and it burns at 2X.

Hope this helps.

PiemaN101 08-11-2002 16:08

Cheers for that Chromedome, Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and try a DVD-R, wish me luck, anyone made a good backup od GTA3 or MGS2?

Jeff

Chromedome 08-11-2002 16:13

Yeah. Backed up both of those with no problems. What modchip do you have?

Chromedome 08-11-2002 16:20

A new 4X DVD-R media will soon be filtering through to the market place.

Do not use this media in you A04 without first upgrading the firmware, if you don't you will most likely burn out your writer.

Go to www.pioneer-eur.com for the firmware V1.33.

You have been warned!!

PiemaN101 08-11-2002 16:22

Messiah 1, Like I said, Had no problems since updating PX engine when creating and coping files back, but was testing it out first on DVD-RW, will burn them to ordinary DVD-R and try it... Will post the result tomorrow for you, By the way, thanks for the tip but one step ahead of you on that one! Tried the f/w upgrade when had orig fault but thanks for the thought.

PiemaN101 09-11-2002 07:20

Thanks again guys, Copied to a DVD-R with no problem. PS2 boots disc without any issues.. You are all stars..
