DVD on CD?

Does anyone know if it possible to copy a DVD on to a CD-R (assume the size of DVD is small enough to fit) and if so how?

Also, is there anything I can do to get DivX or MPEGs etc.. to play on a UK Playstation 2?

if you want to copy the dvd you can find a program that can split the .vobs into smaller pieces (as big as the cd) and then burn the splitted vobs to the cds. But this is kind of stupid, because all dvd movies are 4 -7 Gb, which means that would have to use 7 cds at least!! If you want to convert the dvd to divx there are many sites which tell you how to do it.

Let me rephrase wot I want. I want to be able to get downloaded movies to play on my playstation 2, is this possible?

there is a way but its very dodgy since you will have to change the divx (MPEG Layer 4) file to pss format (compression MPEG Layer 2) which works with ps2 but each pss file must be shorter than 5 minutes. And that is around 150 mb each file which is 5 min long.
The other way is splitting the vob file.
I really dont recommend any of the above ways. Just watch them on your comp or just buy a TV Tuner or you video card might have a tv out, and then just plug it up to tv, saves alot of time and cds.
