Controlling bitrate with Nero?
All of my music on my harddrive has a bitrate of 192 kbps but when I burn w/Nero the CDs come out at 1411 kbps. The CDs sound great on my computer but that's the only place I can listen to them, my car stereo spits out the disk and my home stereo just won't read it. It use to burn the CDs at the same bitrate the song was. This problem just started recently, maybe I changed a setting or something, can't remember. Any help would be great. Thanks
WinXP Nero 5.5.2.3 |
U are burning them as uncompressed PCM audio wich can be played in a normal CD-Player. The reason your car/home player can't play them is that they don't understand cd-r format or u haven't finalized the CD. Use Nero wizard and create Data CD, NOT Audio CD.

I understand that you want to make an audio CD that will play in a stereo system. In that case, you must make it an audio CD, not a data CD. Data CDs can only be read by PCs. Audio CDs can be read by any CD drive, whether its mounted on a PC or on a stereo system. But Audio CDs are limited to the standard bitrate, which means you can only stick 74/80/90/99 minutes of audio on it, depending on the CD-R you use.
It is _possible_ that stereo systems don't read the CDs cause they support CD-Rs, but I have never witnessed it. And some (or maybe even most) can read the CD even if it's not finalized. |
Try recording at 16bit, 44.1kbps, its realy the only bit rate a domestic cd player wants to read and play. Most cd players have no problem with cd-r and you don't really have to finalise the cd (it just means the player will only ever recognise the last song you burnt on the disc and ignore any other writen audio sessions).

by music on your hardrive I take it you mean mp3s?
Well Nero will make the conversion to CDA before it burns or it's best to use MP32WAV and convert you mp3 to wav format first, then make an audio cd in Nero and use the converted wav files, it will be quicker and Nero will not covert the mp3 files before burning as some ppl say that Nero does not do that great of a job on the conversion, personally I tend to prefer MP32WAV as it faster with that utility and makes for error free audio burns with Nero. |
