PS2 wont boot PS2/CDDVD games and Movies from the browser
This is on behalf of my friend who is having problems booting PS2 CD/DVD games either copy or original from the browser screen details below;
PAL PS2 V5 Messiah chipped. PS1 games will boot from browser and from cold boot-up when PS2 is in PS1 mode by pressing reset twice; PS2 mode, can only boot games from cold boot, cannot do them in browser screen, PS2 cannot reconize the discs as it keeps saying reading disc. This is with both CD/DVD games copy or original and imports, etc, doesn't really matter. DVD movies own region, 'Region2' boot okay from browser screen. Any ideas? Thanx |
Try cleaning the laser or you might want to check the solder points on the Messiah. Once the Ps2 gets Modded occasionally but rarely enough it acts up with the Messiah chip.
Nothing so far with Magic2(With mine and several others) but Messiah is haywire here and there. |
If the laser needed cleaning, how come it boots the normal method except the browser screen, Or do you think it might be the chip? However, the chip seems to do every function it's supposed to do.

Date/Time need setting?

This is just my astronomically humble opinion, but I think most chipped ps 2's have this "problem" with booting from the browser.
Mine does this too, and it's brand new (although mine has a Magic 2 no-swap; don't know about Messiah). I have to put the game in, and reset to get the game to boot. The shop owner told me this was to be expected from a chipped machine. That's my two cents; hope it helps ;) |
What do you mean Charlie about Date/Time setting, does he need to change in some way? Also do you think the laser might need adjusting as well.
Cheers! |
Still no luck!:(

This may be stupid question but what does it matter??As long as it boots everything the way the chip is supposed to. There is not any chip on the market thats supposed to boot from the browser screen!!!

The reason why he is bothered about this, is that he can't boot his Channel Technology DVD multi region disc. Because after the PS2 shows the PlayStation®2 screen upon boot-up, it then proceeds back to the Browser screen where the blue disc icon is displayed. However, on my friends PS2 it does not show the icon after the PS2 returns back to the browser, as this is needed in order to boot any DVD movie. Because you take out the DVD boot disc when in the browser screen, pop in any region DVD movie then it will boot. With this problem my friend has he is unable to do this.
NOTE: Don't no if some of you have heard about Channel Technology DVD Boot Disc, but it was available a good few months back. It's not a fake or anything as i've got proof of it, and it works fine for 100% everytime for me. |
