Conflicts or no Conflicts?
 

Being that I removed my Plextor CD burner to fit an A04, if I refit my Plextor with the A04 fitted is there likely to be any conflicts?

and what's the deal with Master and Slave stuff?

You need to set the pioneer drive as master,and not on the same ide cable as the harddisk,or you may get some problems

If you have enough ide channels on your motherboard...Try putting it on a channel all by itself...If not, see post above...

I am pleased to report that I've fit the Plextor back in the PC.

I didn't have a spare IDE slot so I've rearranged my hard drives so that the two HD are on one cable and the other IDE slot / cable has the Plextor as the master and the A04 as the slave.

So far I haven't had any problems and I've used both drives to make backups.

So thanks for the advice chaps, all appears to be well.
