pryzm and neokey help?

Ps2 v4
No solder mod chip
neokey/sbox mod chip (for 80 min games)
gameshark 2

I've been trying to get pryzm to work for the longest time. When I swap it in, it goes to the black screen after the gameshark, like it's a real ps2 disc, and it spins up, to the high pitched part, but stays there, and doesn't keep loading.

It's not an 80 min disc, so that can't be the problem. Could it be because it's a PAL disc? It does the same thing regardless of whether I hold down the eject button for the no solder chip, or use the sbox method. If it's a pal problem, I haven't been able to find a pal-ntsc patch for it.

Also, could anyone give me some tips on using the sbox? It seems VERY picky. I have about a 1/8 success rate with it. With gameshark 2, are you supposed to turn on the sbox, eject the gameshark, put in the burned disc, push eject again to close the tray and then hit X JUST as the tray closes? Because that's all that's gotten it to work, but it seems VERY picky about when I hit X. Any tips?

Thanks a lot.

Here is some procedures for the sbox that people have gotten to work...

Booting a PlayStation 1 CDR Backup Copy

• Ensure the USB MOD is switched on (all the way right).
• Insert the PlayStation CDR copy into you PS2 and boot as normal. The USB
• MOD will automatically detect the media and game type.

Booting a PlayStation 1 Original

• Ensure the USB MOD is switched off (all the way left).
• Insert the original PlayStation game into the disc tray and boot the PS2 as normal.

Booting a PlayStation 2 Original

• Ensure the USB MOD is switched off (all the way left).
• Insert the original PlayStation 2 game into the disc tray and boot the PS2 as normal.

Booting a PlayStation2 CDR Backup Copy

• Insert the Action Replay 2 Memory card into a free memory card slot.
• Ensure the USB MOD is switched 'OFF' (all the way left).
• Power on the PS2 and eject the disc tray and insert Action Replay 2 Disc 1 and power the system off.
• Power the PS2 on and wait until the black screen containing the PlayStation2 logo appears then move the USB MOD switch into the 'ON' position (all the way right) allow the system to boot to the Action Replay 2 main menu.
• Select 'Start Game' from the Action Replay 2 menu.
• Select start game 'Without' cheat codes.
• Eject the disc tray, remove the Action Replay 2 disc1 and insert the PlayStation2 CDR copy. Press X to continue.

Please Note: This boot method will not boot some EA Sports titles without patching them first.

Hope this helps...

Thanks, I tried that, but when I go to the insert disc screen, I hit eject, put in the backup disc, then hit x, and nothing happens, the screen just freezes and it doesn't pull the tray back in. I have the gameshark 2, and not the action replay 2, could that make a difference? I've had trouble finding instructions for the newest version of the gameshark 2, all the ones I've found have been for the action replay, or older versions of the gameshark.

p.s. I've also noticed that when the sbox is turned on, the ps2 seems to have trouble spinning. Instead of a smooth low rpm to high rpm spinup it'll start to speed up, then stutter, then spin up a little more, then stutter, it'll do that a few times before reaching full speed. That's why so far I've waited until the gameshark has totally loaded before turning it on. Because right after the Playstation 2 logo, the gameshark spins up REALLY high, then slows down and stops, and if the sbox is on, it stutters a heck of a lot, and has had problems loading.
