I made a backup copy of RCT2 which installs perfectly and seems to work but it will not run the game. Auto run works but if you click play the game it just sits there. Does anyone know why that would be?

You didn't make a 1:1 copy. The prog recognizes that you are using a copy, so it will refuse to run.

You must use a patch, but I think there isn't any at the moment.

Has anyone tried to edit the sound files yet? I use to have my own music playing instead of there's. Anyone know if you can do this with #2?

There was a feature added in one of the expansion packs for RCT1, and apparently it's in RCT2 too. It allows you to use two wav files as "Custom Music 1" and "Custom Music 2" in the music dropdown list, you know where you can select "Roman fanfare", "Egyptian" etc... More instructions are in the CUSTOM.TXT file that you can find in the Data subdirectory. I haven't tested it myself but this should allow you to easily add some custom sounds.

Like I said in the PM, use the Temp Directory method (Copy CD contents to Hard Drive, Copy crack to the folder with the contents, burn back with the same label). Of course this is assuming that this game has SecuRom (Very) New as well. Which as has been discussed on these boards cant be copied yet. So no 1:1.

do somebody know if there is somewere the crack for the german version. so that the game stay in german. cause my wife love the game, but she can´t speak english.

I made a 1:1 copy and it didn't work, I get the same symptoms as rct2guy had originally. If you need a patch for it and there is no such patch available yet then I ask rct2guy how exactly he got it working. Or can someone else tell me what I did wrong and give me a method that will work like it did for rct2guy?

I used a program that advertised one of its features as 1:1 copy making, because I knew that's what I had to use if it was going to work, which is why I was surprised and helpless when it didn't work. Ever heard of CloneCD? Anyway... I guess I'll use a different program.. so I don't need a patch? what? whee!

So if I follow the directions in that thread, I should have a working copy like rct2guy does? Thanks.
