BF 1942 "server noCD "
 

I played BF 1942 several times using two cracks to play over the internet.
Now, I can't get a connection to a server anymore. Is there a new "server no cd" in progress???

Another crack that doesnt work. Trying to make a back up and it didnt work. using a legit key and everything just got tired of putting the cd in all the time.

Ahh I guess GCW sometimes posts dead cracks to get the traffic..

I would do the same thing if I needed the traffic.

No need for wild accusations, buddy. GCW works with mirrors donated by various people. This means you can download those cracks for free, but don't be surprised if some links don't work anymore. There are mirrors where ALL links to files older than two months stop working.

Try every mirror available, in 95% of cases there is usually one where the crack is still present. Files older than two months are missing from a lot of mirrors, but to my experience there's always one mirror who has it.

As for bf1942, this is a bit of a bother for multiplayer cracks. On connection, a crc check of the executable is made and if it doesn't check out you get disconnected. Try the loader you find here : http://hosting-server1.com/gcw/games...eld_1942.shtml, it's the v1.1 loader at the top.

Sorry, But I think people should test out the cracks more before just posting them up there.

It didnt work, downloaded it twice and even went to his site and downloaded it.

Just because you didn't get it to work doesn't mean it's a bad crack, and it CERTAINLY doesn't mean Empire is putting up fake cracks to increase traffic, like you claimed. I think GCW is getting more than it's fair share of traffic, since it's the best of the only three good crack sites out there. When you have trouble with a crack, the right place to ask is here, but without accusations please.

No, I'm not a mod. But I do try to help people out here. I really, really like this site and maybe that's why I felt compelled to reply to your uncalled for stab at GCW. Don't make the assumption that only mods can speak out here.

So I'll say it one more time : the crack you downloaded may or may not work. That's not really the issue here. The issue is whether you have any proof of your claim that GCW puts up non working cracks to get more traffic or whether you just like to spout this kind of conspiracy nonsense.

We're still at a civil stage in this discussion, without swear words or accusations of canine ancestry. I'd like to keep it this way if possible, so consider this my last reply in this thread.

Ill retract my statment for saying that the Site posts these dead links up. However I wont retract the statment on the latest nocd loader not working.. IF you check the board there isnt one person who says it works. I have tried it every method.. Is there any proof it works?

Well so far I happen to have the nocd crack working on 3 computers here. my own and 2 other machines here at my friends house, I just wanna say thankyou to the people who did help me get it running, brilliant game, definately hours of multiplay in this one :)

Use all the methods, the copy I have is a clone cd 4.0 copy AND its a legit key.. yet it always disconnects me.. No matter what.

User2002 If u bother to search these forums and read the thread at a certain other forum. U would know that there are CRC checks on the exe when u try to connect servers as well as CD Key checks. U aint getting online unless u connect to cracked servers. Things will get harder with the next patch.

OK it is verry simple.....
There are 3 or 4 files that you will need to get this working....

First update your copy of bf1942 to version 1.1 THIS STEP IS ABSOLUTELY IMPORTANT

(i cracked and patched version 1.0 with the crack that is on gcw and I could play single player games quite fine but as soon as I started a multiplayer session it would crash before It loaded in)

next Extract 2 files from the ummm I think its farlights patch, umm its 7 or 8mb so that should give you a good indication of which one it is, the two files are bf1942.exe and bf1942.org

ok once that is done (and I do strongly recommend backing up the original exe first) download the nocd patch from gcw (its about 15kb) extract patch.exe to the game directory and then run it. That was all that i did and it worked on 3 computers.

(Im sorry I dont have the exact file names of the archives that need to be downloaded. In a few clicks I could probably find out but the fact of the matter is im a little bit on the lazy side)
