WSB 2001 (World Superbike) on XP
 

The game runs under w98, but not under XP ... or w2000

Have run registry hack also, ea sports comes up and then it just goes back to the desktop ??

Can you setup XP/W2000 to run in W98 mode ??

Anybody got any ideas ?? :confused:

I don't have wix xp running, but xp should have a compatibility wizard. Try it.

You could also send me the main exe, maybe I can help you.

What does the compatability wizard do... does it check the .exe or does it allow you to run in a W98 mode ??

It "tells" the exe that everything is fine, I think. That's at least what it is supposed to do. I haven't tried it yet, so no guarantee.

If you want to try using XP's compatability mode:

1. Find the EXE file the shortcut points to.
2. RIGHT click on the EXE and choose PROPERTIES from the menu.
3. Click the COMPATABILITY tab and click in the COMPATABILITY MODE box to enable it.
4. Select 'Windows 98 / Windows Me' mode from the drop down selector box.
5. Click APPLY then click OK.

Now try the game again. You can try the other option of disabling visual themes as well.

This is NOT guaranteed to work though, but at least you'll know where XP's compatability setting is :)
