What does it mean if a no-cd or fixed exe works w/orig disc?
I realize that this is a newbie question but indulge me please.
If I successfully install a protected game on my rig but it won't run, just a splash screen and then nothing.... I then find a no-cd or fixed exe on this fantastic site, and this file works and allows me to play the game does this mean that my problem was caused by the protection? Again I know this is a dumb question but I am having this issues pop up over and over but as yet do not understand why. Thank you for any replies, in advance. Dazzl:;) |
Yes thats the Protection kicking in.

Even w/original game discs?
Thank you for the reply. If I have installed using the original discs and ran into no problems.
Why would the copyprotection not allow the original game discs to run? These are brand new cd rom drives with the latest firmware (LiteOn DVD and Burner)? Dazzl |
I'd suggest you contact the publisher and make a big stink out of it. After all, if it wasn't for the people who makes these cracks, you would have been completely out of luck. You bought the game, and if its dumb copy protection prevents it from playing on your particular cdrom/dvdrom drive, you better tell them about it.

As I've mentioned before, it is likely to be a blacklisting problem - you have some software installed that Macrovision (Safedisk) doesn't like.
By using a crack you are removing the protection so there is no blacklisting check - so it works. |
