safedisk version 3.0

hello all, i shall soon be considering upgrading my burner, however, does anyone know when SD ver. 3.0 is going to come into use? will it be in the next few months, or year?

thanks

you fool, if you had any intelligence you may work out that the reason i was asking was because its not a wise move to buy a new burner in the next month or 2 because if the new protection is going to be used it would likey not be able to be copied using existing burners. so i just didnt want to waste my money, but if it really makes you feel powerful insulting (post # 2), or trying your hardest to be funny (post #3) then go ahead. or hey, maybe you could try and answer the question instead of posting rubbish

You're the one posting rubbish here.
You really think anyone at Macrovision would hand out the SD3 specs?
They probably don't even know all of them yet since SD3 hasn't been released.
Also you can't tell for sure which writer can copy it until you actually have a protected disc to try it with, can you?
Try and use your brain next time.

i think, but that's only a guess, that safedisc 3 will appear at the end of this year (2 years for sd 1, now 2 years for sd 2 :) ) and they'll probably TRY to stop copying software (CloneCD & others)

that's why it is very important to know how to reverse previous versions... internally, the difference between SD 1.50.20 and 2.05.30 wasn't great...

again, i'm guessing here, i may be completely wrong... don't think i work for Macrovi$ion :D

dazza, as emptyeighty said, we will have to discover the strengths and weaknesses of SD3 ourselves when it comes out. it's just useless to discuss it yet.

YOU ****ING IDIOT, DO YOU HAVE NO BRAIN, ALL I WAS SAYING WAS SHOULD I GET A BURNER NOW AND RISK NOT BEING ABLE TO COPY SD3 GAMES, OR WAIT UNTIL SD 3 IS OUT AND THEN SEE WHAT BURNERS CAN COPY THOSE GAMES (OR UNTIL A BURNER COMES OUT THAT CAN COPY THAT)

I DID NOT ASK FOR SPECS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, I WAS ASKING PEOPLE TO ESTIMATE WHEN IT WILL BE USED IN GAMES SO I COULD DECIDE TO WAIT OR BUY NOW

I HAVE NEVER BEEN ON A FORUM WITH SUCH THICK FOOLS, HONESTLY, YOU REALLY NEED TO LEARN TO READ AND INTERPRET.

bools eye, thanks a lot for your estimate, and for actually understanding what i had written. i think ill wait and see what the protection does before getting a new writer

p.s. your program is very user freindly!, well done

Thanks, i like you too. :D

Why are you asking a question that you already know the answer to?
You're saying that you eigther buy a writer now and risc not being able to copy SD3 or wait until a cloning method is invented.
There is no way anyone could know when SD3 will be used. Any estimate that is made on the release date is nothing but speculation.
So in the end it's totally up to the feeling in your stomach since there are no facts to judge after.
