New 4X DVD-R Media
 

The new 4X DVD-R media will soon be available but beware, if you use this media in a Pioneer A03/103 or A04/104 you will burn out your DVD writer.

Pioneer are aware of the problem but are not advertising the matter for reason only known to them.

There is a 1.90 firmware update available which will allow you to use the 4X media.

Sorry, forgot to mention that the new firmware is available from www.pioneer-eur.com.

to take this a bit further the problem is with the a03/a04 over heating
this has been a problem for a long time not just because of the new media
ie my a03 overheated burned out dvd laser (what tech told me)this was before the new media was available
