swap boot not working

I have a neo2.4 and am trying to use the dvd swap boot method. It isn't working. I'm using the ff10 disc as the swap disc and game shark. My tray won't open automaticly so I have to press eject manualy. This has always been that way but it never has been a problem with the cdr games. Help needed.

Are you sure you dont mean a neo 2.2, never heard of a 2.4, also what version console do you have??

i'm pretty sure its a version 4 my model number is 30001 and my serial number starts with u4. I hope i can boot dvd-r. I just bought a Ao4 and I am now broke and would like to not have to buy another chip. If anybody can help my wallet would love it.

If u r sure its V4 than try this Dave Mirra swap trick and see if its work (personally I never use it )

First time
step 1:Load AR2 disc and keep the fingers on the reset button
step 2:Go into codes and select dave mirra 2(ignore if already selected)
step 3:Press start
step 4:Eject AR2 disc and insert your dvd original(prefer devil may cry)
step 5:Wiat about 10 secounds for dvd to stop spining
step 6:Select with codes and press X
step 7:Then press X again
step 8:You should have a error message
step 9:Lets go off the reset button
step 10:Take out the original dvd
step 11:Put in your dvd copy and then close cd draw
step 12:Press X ,press O and then press O again
step 13:Press start and select without codes and finally press X.

The game should load...
Like I say I haven try it myself ,so keep us posted if its work...

To all of you that trying the dave mirra trick with the new AR2 V2.1 (new v) and it Doesn’t work .
I will explain what I done:
1. create a new entry in the code list and call this game code "DVD-R"
2. create an empty code entry in this "DVD-R" game code and call this entry "dummy-code"
3. Boot the ps2 with the AR2, then swap (just regular eject) the AR2 disc with a DVD original larger then the DVDR you trying to boot and wait 20 sec.
4. chose AR codes from the main menu and turn on or off this "dummy-code" before you start the game .
5. chose start game-with codes and press X then it says updating code list and in this exact time press the eject for 2 sec for open the tray with the r-mod chip and swap the original DVD with the DVD-r.
Good luck
This works with the AR2..... It may work with GS also....

Thanks for the help guys. Still not working I'm going to try verbatim media and then my friends ps2 with the same chip just to see if its the way i'm burning. If I still have no luck I'll try to get a messiah chip put in. Or a magic if I can't find one. Thanks again!

There are a few 30001 consoles that are in fact v5's. Look inside the drive bay, if you have 2 screws then it's a v4, 3 screws its a v5.

Two screws so its a version 4. The cd-r's boot fine its just the dvd-r. The only thing my PS2 did that was unusual was that you had to press eject on the hold boot while on the others i've seen it pops out by itself.
