Making F355 Selfbootable

Ok so I tried to make Ferrari F355 Challenge selfbooting yesterday by following the Echelon selfboot tuturial...
but when I played the disc it got to the Sega license screen and the "Now loading" message appeared from the game. Straight after that the dc resetted.... What did I do wrong?!

You certainly have a PAL DC ??!!

get your original iso and patch it with this :
http://www.megagames.com/console/cgi...&file=pns-ferr!zip

It's a patch for PAL/NTSC detection routine in F355

Good luck !

I forgot : simply try to use PAL patcher from MEGALEXX, it works great for a lot of games.
I've patched many of my games with success, but i don't experienced with f355.

if someone did it, tell us...

I have an American Dreamcast (sega sports black). The version of F355 Challenge is JAP.

To selfboot F355, you need to modify a 2nd line (not modified by BinHack) : look for "A6 00 00 00" and change it by your LBA value ("5C 2E 00 00" for LBA=11702). There should be several "A600". Change the one with "data" around...

Well I changed the A600 0000 to 5C2E 0000 but the game doesnt even go to the sega license screen, just like Ikaruga...
I still think the LBA is messed up or something, I am not an expert in this nor hexediting. Please help!!!!!

O BTW After i changed the hex values of the 1st_read.bin i continued with step 11 from the Echelon tutrial(when u have to use binhack), is this ok?

hey bobcoureur, i had the exact same problem as you which Megalxxx helped me to SB this sucker:)
I suggest reading this thread http://www.fileforums.com/showthread...highlight=f355

that should sort you out:)

Why don't you try BIN2BOOT ????

- extract all your file from iso into a temp directory
- make an iso with mkisofs
- bin2boot your new iso

Try....

Got it working using the steps from the other post
