Copy works in emulator not in psx, help?
 

Is it possible for copies of psx games to work in an emulator but not in the psx. I made a copy of madden 2003, the cd copy works with ePSXe emulator, but not im my psx.
Yes, I have a mod chip installed, have made other copies of games and they work, but for some reason madden wont get past the initial white screen with the sony logo.

I'm using the same media, burner, and burn speed as other copies I made.

Hell, I managed to burn a copy of a game once at 16x, so dont even think that burn speed is the reason.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can you play any other backed up games on your PSX?

It might be the laser in your psx that is on its way out, your PC CD/DVD-Rom laser is in better health.

Just a suggestion...

I had that fenomen on some backups myself. In that case it was the region that messed it up. The emulator doesn't care if it is a pal or ntsc game, neither if it's from jap / US / eur. I had to patch the backup for my region then it worked on my ps. I used e general region program and then added PSOne patch.

This is exactly what is happening with my copies, with my psx crashing. But I used this tool, then burned another copy and it still doesnt work. I'm wondering if its because madden 2003 is fairly new, maybe thats why I'm having problems.

Ok, now it just got strange.

I burned a copy using cdrwin @ 2x. It get past the initial white sony boot screen and goes into the black license screen but nothing is displayed. It just hangs there. But the weird part is that this copy (with cdrwin) wont play in the emulator. :confused:

So now I have,

nero copy - plays in emulator, not in psx
cdrwin copy - does NOT play in emulator or psx.

try using clonecd,it has never let me down yet!!

I had the same problem with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2.

It worked fine in ePSXe, but in my psx it would load to the memory card and music cd screen.

It is annoying, but have the original, so that will have to do.
