help with mod chip
 

hello ive just bought a second hand ps2 and it is modded, im not sure what chip it is, does any one have any ideas? there is something on the memory card that i am not suppose to delete otherwise the backup games wont work and i have to use dvd region x when i put the backup game in i have to press something like L1 x button & start together to get the game working , i only have to do this with ps2 games, backed up ps1 games work fine without having to go through this process, i am in uk so i have a pal version. and another question, i can backup ps1 games and they will work but how do i backup ps2 games, ive tried but it wont work, is this something to do with the chip?
