Have you tried PAL Patcher ?
|
Pal Patcher does not work with this game Megalexxx.
The only way I ever got it to run was by plugging my RF cable in, instead of my Scart Lead. |
Could you please send me your 1st_read.bin ?

I have the same problem.
I have a pal dreamcast and i've downloaded and burned 3 different versions of GL but each time my dreamcast show me the music menu. I thought that was a burning problem ??? |
not the MUSIC MENU BUT THE DC MENU
Sorry :-( |
Ok guys, try this :
_ make an image of your CD using DiscJuggler _ open it with an hex editor _ look for "ED 88 28 36 89 03 88 44 8B" _ replace it by "ED 88 28 36 89 03 88 09 00" _ save, burn and enjoy ! :) |
Cheers Megalexxx, works a treat. About time I had this running right. Now If I could just get Urban Chaos (U) to do the same.
|
i'll try tomorrow and i'll post the feedback.
|
GREAT !! it works ! but Megalexx how did you find this hex strings ???
|
Easy : I'm a God. ;P
No, I just compared with my (working) version. And since I've got a few notes on PAL patches, I'm used to look for that. |
it's a very little modification compared with the kalisto patch (>500 ko). And it works with any iso version of this game. You should release a patch and up it to megagames cauz i've burned 3 or 4 CDs to make this game working and i know several pal dreamcast users in this case.
It will be usefull for guys that don't have the orignal kalisto iso. Thanks again. PS: aurais-tu un truc dans ce genre pour sega rally 2 qui aurait bien besoin d'un coup de 60HZ !!?? ;-) |
Megagames doesn't refresh its patches list. I've send some patches recently, but they didn't put them on their site.
You can't make a generic patch for all images of a single game. This is how PPF patches work : they specify the place, the number of bytes to change and the new bytes to write. There's also a control on your file's length (that's why you sometimes get a message "file size different from original, patch anyway ?") and there could be a control on the very first bytes in the file. Since each image is different from a burning program to another, there's no way to specify a static place for the bytes to patch since they can be at different place from an image to another... I wrote a program that looks for specific patterns and can then patch them, but I made it very generic. I could add this patch, but my proggy is already VERY SLOW (it scan all the image, looking for loads of data). Lots of people are looking for a 60 Hz patch for Sega Rally 2. I haven't seen one yet. Heureux de voir que je ne suis pas le seul francais ici. :) Je pensais a un projet pour lister tous les patches PAL / 60 Hz pour tous les jeux. Tu as du temps libre ? ;) |
Ok pas de problème pour ton projet.
je suis ok  |
Problems with this HEX-Code
