multi-session/mixed cds

i've discovered that when i make a cd with an audio(s) and a data track(s), on some comps it'll read the data as the 'primary' session in explorer, and on other comps, it has the audio track(s) as the files viewable in explorer... why's this??, and is it reversable?

I think:

When you make a mixed mode cd with at first audio track(s) and then a data track, windows show you the data track.
(Some bands/singers make it so, but there is the data track in another session, so an normal auidio cd player cant find that track.)

When a pc shows you the audio tracks in WindowsExplorer (*.cda-files) then the cd-rom drive isn't able to read multisession, or???

i think it's just cd-drive dependant ...

i have an original "pressed" cd here.. in the middle there are 2 audio tracks, and then there's a data track. some drives recognize the cd as a data cd (but the "cd-player" program can also play the audio tracks), and some others detect it as pure audio !

bools eye hit the nail on the head there, i have the same experiences as him, so is there a way to control it?

i don't think so... it's a hardware problem.

well i was making a backup of my friend's cd for him, it must've had multiple sessions, coz it didn't work. (don't u hate it when people who are ignorant morons complain)
