Sbox and backups PLAY ROMS!
I have recently installed my Sbox and love it for all my PSX imports. However it does not play most of my PS2 backups the one game in particular I would like to work is Ring of Red by Konami. Also Le mans 24 and SSX and others will not work for me. When I try to boot them up using my Game Shark V1.9 it takes me a black screen and stays there on somes games it works though. I use CDRwin latest version to copy to image then burn at 4x. I have the same problem when trying to boot up Snes-station. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Used Clone CD to do all of your CD based burns.....
CDRWin will NOT make a 1:1 copy..... Clone CD will..... |
Still doesnt work!
I have tried cdclone, cdrwin, nero, adaptec still no luck. I think the problem may be that it says my burner does not burn RAW-SAO can you tell me what that mean, is it burning it raw.

Also tried other chips
Have also had the messiah chip on my ps2. Well actually I bought it but never got it on, the people I had install it (i think modchip.com) botched and melted a hole through the curcuit board so I can no longer soder to that connection, its a miracle it still works.

That is definately a problem.... To be 100% compatible your burner needs to support this:
RAW-DAO 96 = 2352 bytes RAW Data + 96 Bytes P-W Subchannel Data. This is the best mode for CloneCD. It allows writing of all subchannel information, including Digital Signatures, CD-Text, ISRC, Catalog Numbers, CD+G, CD+MIDI, Gaps, Indices and Crazy TOCs. If it doesn't, upgrade your burner.... You can pick them up now for less than $50.00....... |
The games mentioned must be patched to load when using a USB mod. It doesnt matter if your burner is 100% clone cd compatable or not. There is no way to do the EA swap method with a USB mod so patching some games is a must. Get the patches at www.ps2ownz.com.
