securom 2 with Liteon 24102b
 

Hi,

I've read a lot of posts about SecuRom2 and the liteon 24102b. A lot of people say it is not possible to create a working backup, and then some say it is.
I am trying to backup my Warcraft III cd so I can play lan games but I can't make a working copy.
I have tried using clonecd (latest version) with the settings the clonyxxl (lates version) gives me. However, clonyxxl can't detect it has any protection at all. I used Securom*new* settings anyway but made a coaster.
I then heard that some people had success with different types of copy software. So I have tried quite a few different ones now.
I tried using : Clonecd, Blindwrite, CD Mate, Cdrwin...
I'm running out of programs to use.
I have a feeling, that the people who had success, didn't READ the cd with the liteon, but with another drive.
If anyone knows of any ideas please help.
I have the latest firmware by the way.

Its a very strange situation really, Mitsumi 4804 will read RAW + 96 & does perfect backups of SecuRom/*new*/V2, but Lite-On 24102B also reads RAW + 96 & won't do perfect backups of SecuRom/*new*/V2 ..... :confused:

As far as I know, Diablo 2 is SecuRom V2 or *new*, I have this & might try to do a backup using the Lite-On to a cdrw disc & see what happens. But then, its very possible they have updated SecuRom since Diablo 2 ....

I'll try a few more things, I haven't tried using Fantom software yet. If this doesn't work I'll wait for a firmware update from Liteon, hopefully this will fix the problem?
