You wouldent beleive this, i have had my PS2 since christmas and a neo4, the PS2 has had no problams till last night when NO BACKUPS will work and the Playstation 2 banner pops up at the beggining which iv never seen b4.
when i put a ps2 cdr in it boot partially and just stays a blank black screen screen. It does not allow me to swap DVDR beacause when i hold in eject the disc comes out spinning @ a hundred miles per hour, lol

But when i go into browser screen and when i put a ps2 cdr backup in it still comes up a playstation 1 cd, which means the modchip still may be working

Any help please, im goin to go daft without my PS2 and only 3 real games i got works outta my 90 games, :(

There are 2 possibilities.
1.Your Laser is dying
2.One of the wires are coming off but if it did it wouldn't even load the game half the way would it?
To be honest Neo4 is a sh**y chip that gradually kills the laser compare to the Knife/CC trick except slowly..
This is the only thing I could think of.
I heard so many horror stories on Neo4. While several machines last longer on it but there are some out there the machine's laser's die faster.
I suggest Bill with www.Freedomlives.com for Technical support. My advice is get a Magic2 non swap chip where the laser stays neutrol..

Faz - sorry to hear about your machine, I bet you must be going nuts!

Not Good. My condolensces..Either get a Brand new Ver.5 with Magic2 or repair it with a Brand new laser and Magic2 after removing the P.O.S Neo4.
My advice. But if you're gonna go through all that it's better to buy a Brand new PS2 and Magic2 instead.
Brand new laser runs around $99.00. I can imagine the repair cost from Bill..

Thanks, I going to take my PS2 into glasgow on saturday to get it fixed, not sure what is wrong with it but i think it may be a wire has came off or something like that. cause my laser has not had a problem b4.

This is a very sad day 4 me without my PS2 and only 3 real games.:(
